Work at Ennis Option also involves MCN 3996 and MCN 4203, as they lie entirely within EL 8172. Exploration completed by the Shell company was part of a programme involving all these tenements. 338 soil samples were collected (some fall within the MCNs, 226 fall within EL 8172) and assayed for Au and base metals. A NW (grid north) trending gold anomaly was outlined through the centre of MCN 3996. In 1994 work involved geological mapping, costeaning and drilling. 2 costeans were excavated to test portions of the soil anomaly. Two zones of low grade gold mineralisation were identified in the southern costean. The best values correspond with a quartz vein set outcropping north of the costean. 5 RC holes totaling 290m were completed across the northeastern gold anomaly indicated by the soil sampling. Drilling intersected a narrow zone of low grade gold mineralisation in quartz veins. A narrow and low grade mineralisation was intercepted in all holes except ENP018. Best results from drilling include 0.70ppm and 0.61ppm Au. A detailed mapping programme was completed revealing the structural and lithological controls of mineralisation.en_US
