A total of 190,552 BCMs of material was mined during the 1993-1994 financial year. Mining from MLN 13 accounted for 83 percent of the total production. A total of 1,588,871t of ore averaging 1.74 g-t Au was treated in the CIP plant during the year, producing 75,249oz Au and 13,194oz Ag. Mining ceased in Czarina in September. Czarina pit is in the process of being backfilled with waste material. Projects, environment, rehabilitation and safety are also outlined. This report also outlines the exploration completed on MLN 13 during the reporting period and should be red in conjunction with the report by C.Fawcett (CR1994-0617). Drilling at Central czarina was designed to test mineralisation at the south end of the Czarina Pit. Results were patchy with grades ranging from 0.8 to 24.90 g-t Au. Mineralisation is associated with west dipping faults and is hosted by the Upper Mine Greywacke. These zones of mineralisation were further tested by percussion drilling. A small resource of 59,324 tonnes at 1.80 g-t Au was outlined by this drilling. Exploration over the Southern Leases consisted of the drilling of 118 RC drill holes for 4,880m and the digging of an 80m costean across the projected axis of the Kohinoor Anticline. Gold mineralisation within the southern leases is structurally controlled and hosted. This is reflected by the spotty nature of gold mineralisation on the Southern Leases. On some sections gold assays appear to form moderately west dipping ore shoots. Despite finding anomalous gold mineralisation in many drill holes, results indicate that economic mineralisation is unlikely to be found on most of the Southern Leases under the areas drilled. Drilling at the Harbrow prospect revealed generally low anomalous gold grades (0.8-2.00 g-t Au) however spotty higher grades of up to 9.80 g-t Au are present. these zones of mineralisation are generally narrow and are associated with minor quartz veining.en_US
