In July 2011, Gerry Pauley and a team of 3 workers started the exploration of EL 28125. Initially, several traverses were made in the northern area of the EL. The area consisted of alluvium made up of quartz crystals, jasper and minor agate. Some of the jasper may have a use in the gemstone industry but the volume may not warrant a mining operation. The area may well be suitable for fossickers. At a meeting with the Department several matters were discussed in relation to fossickers. Gerry agreed that he would assist the department in identifying suitable areas for fossickers outside of ML 25205, owned by Crystal Universe Pty. Ltd. A large commercial deposit of jasper was found in the Gordy Springs area. Samples will be sent to China to see if there is a market for the raw material.en_US
