The soil sampling undertaken in the relinquished portion of EL 27417 has demonstrated that the HM sands persist into the area. However, the wide spacing of the sand dunes and the lower HM content makes the area an unattractive mining proposition. The recent increase in land rental costs also played a significant role in determining the size of the area selected for relinquishment.en_US
