This report covers the first year of EL 26804 to 11th January 2010. The Birrindudu project is located 290km southeast of Kununurra in the Tanami Region of the Northern Territory. Heavy mineral samples taken by WMC during their 1984 diamond exploration programme contained up to 940 grains of cassiterite. Reconnaissance sampling by Independence Group NL in 2008 confirmed the presence of tin, together with tungsten and tantalum. Based on this information a tenement application was made and EL 26804 was granted on 12th January 2009. Whilst no field work was undertaken during the first year of the tenement, historical exploration data was compiled and 105 geochemical samples taken by Stockdale Prospecting Ltd in 1997 were re-analysed for a 59 element scan and 103 heavy mineral concentrate samples were analysed using a portable XRF analyser. These analyses further confirmed the presence of tin and tungsten associated with the Palaeoproterozoic Winnecke Granophyre over a distance of 50km. It is believed that the project has potential to host a substantial tin, tungsten and tantalum ore body.en_US
