Abstract: The work undertaken during the first year of tenure has included: General geological reconnaissance work to validate aerial photograph interpretations and ratify past geological mapping carried out by both the BMR and Kewanee Aust Pty Ltd; Delineation, mapping and sampling of Petricks Copper prospect, with follow up sampling of geological environments akin to Petrick's Copper; Regional geochemical and petrological sampling; A comprehensive literature search of aspects relating to the area and possible forms of mineralisation; The acquisition of 1:10,000 and 1:25,000 colour and 1:86,000 black and white aerial photographs; The acquisition of 1:500,000, 1:250,000 and 1:100,000 Land Sat imagery; and Preliminary drafting of 1:100,000 geological map from NTGS 1:25,000 compilation sheets. The acquisition of this high quality data set has enabled a more detailed assessment of the licence area such that areas of greater potential will be sampled using BLEG geochemical techniques during the second year tenancy. This program is expected to produce several drilling targets for follow-up in late 1989. A number of areas have been defined on the basis of field evidence alone and have been rock-chip sampled for orientation purposes.
