EL 4196 Mount Shoobridge, Annual Report 1986

Abstract

The 1985-86 exploration programme was disrupted due to the departure of Talmina Trading from the exploration programme. However, a stream sediment sampling programme was completed. Also some other sampling work on costeans previously reported 1983-84 was done during this period. So far I have been unable to obtain these figures and fear that Talmina may have misplaced them. However should these come to light they will be included in next year's final report. The stream sediment sampling programme did however, indicate a wider spread of gold bearing streams than had previously been suspected and some of these have yet to be followed up. This will be the last year of EL 4196 existence and I will be concentrating on bulk testing tin bearing pegmatite and adjacent alluvials using the plant at Barrett's tin mine. I have enlisted the assistance of 'Mineral Resources' who will upgrade the plant and supervise the sampling operation. This operation will begin mid August 1986, also wherever possible I will be carrying out work as recommended in the Talmina Trading report. Also Mr. Bob Bourke hopefully will be doing field work on the gold structure adjacent to the Mount Shoobridge fault early 1987. This is for his honours year at Melbourne University and will produce an interesting report. Due to the disruption this year the report is fairly brief but I will compile a complete and detailed final report on the area when the EL is relinquished next year.
