dc.description.abstractThe 1978 exploration programme in the EL 1199 area comprised extensive drilling with a total of 9900.79m drilled. Rotary drilling was carried out in 74 holes, over a total of 8751.89m, including the precollar drilling for the diamond coring programme. Diamond core drilling totalled 1148.90m in 15 holes. Down hole geophysical logging carried out during 1978 totalled 10452.7m. Analysis of 300 samples for uranium and thorium contents was also carried out. Exploration activities in 1979 on the EL will be directed at testing areas of established mineralization and at completing the regional stratigraphic appraisal prior to compulsory relinquishment of parts of the EL area.en_US
