L's exploration on the relinquished 16 blocks has been limited to desktop review. The area comprises a portion of the regional drainage axis, and some weakly defined channelling of surface drainage together with broad areas of claypan development. Regional airborne radiometric surveys tend to show that the saline drainage axes and claypans possess anomalous radioactivity. These areas are the most prospective sites to commence surface investigations; this being confirmed by the initial field visit to the ground east of the relinquished part. Unfortunately, such sites tend to be the areas of most concern to traditional custodians. Access to the area to conduct on-ground exploration was not approved by the Central Land Council. Therefore a decision was made to relinquish the blocks.en_US
