Abstract: | During the tenure of the Licence extensive heavy mineral sampling for diamond exploration and stream geochemical sampling for base metals has shown that the area has a low potential for discovery. Although the diamond exploration samples returned positive results the chromites were not considered to be of kimberlitic origin. A sample collected in 2011 that reported 2 diamonds was repeated with negative results, which downgraded the original result. No base metal anomalism was identified in the stream geochemical data. It is considered that the area has been sampled sufficiently to conclude that it is of low potential for discovery of kimberlites or base metals and therefore has been surrendered on this basis. |
