Fertoz Ltd commissioned Terra Search to conduct an advanced desktop study of the Barkly region including a review of open file geophysical datasets (i.e. radiometrics, magnetics), review of GIS data (historic phosphate occurrences) with the aim of identifying prospective stratigraphy and structural elements that may be favourable for accumulation of phosphate. Analysis of water bores samples from bores located within EL 27075 carried out by Terra Search show no significant phosphate intercepts. Bore were drilled to depths of 100 to 150m. General basin stratigraphy suggests that the depth to Cambrian age sediments over much of the tenements area is unlikely to be viable for phosphate exploration. Fieldwork in 2011 consisted of mapping and a regional sampling program which involved the collection of 133 rock chip samples and 201 B horizon soil samples in areas of no outcrop. The highest phosphate value was 0.46% P2O5 from the rock chip samples with the majority being 0.01%P2O5. The highest P2O5 value was 0.04%P2O5 of the B horizon soil samples. While the region is prospective for phosphate general basin stratigraphy suggests that phosphate will only be found at depth, making extraction a non- economic proposition. Consequently the tenement has been relinquished at the end of the third year.en_US
