Final surrender report EL 27340

Abstract

EL 27340 is part of the Abner Project and situated on the Bauhinia Downs 1:250,000 geological mapsheet. EL 27340 is located 30 kilometres south of Cape Crawford and 65 kilometres west of the Merlin diamond mine. Access to the area is via the Tablelands Highway and station tracks west of the Mallapunyah Station. During the first year of tenure, open file data was gathered and re-assessed. No strong new exploration leads were revealed however this may have been because of a lack of previous HMA sampling. A regional geophysics review was conducted by Legend early in 2010 as part of a larger regional compilation. During 2010-2011 a ground-based HMA sampling program was undertaken and 10 samples were collected and processed. These included 8 stream samples and 2 loam samples. All returned a negative result except for 11-217-001 which contained 1 chromite grain.
