Abstract: | This report is on the second block to be relinquished on the 28 July 2011, and pertains to all data to be submitted to open file. Another report (Final Relinquishment Report_2) has been submitted containing closed file data for the relevant portion of EL 25150 which overlaps the now current mining lease ML 27438. Exploration within the relinquished area consisted of general reconnaissance and extensive review of satellite imagery aimed at identifying accumulations of coastal sands which may have contained valuable heavy minerals. Environmental studies were undertaken to identify areas where there may have been conflict between mineral sands resources and areas of mangrove vegetation or turtle nesting sites. Seven Spiral Auger Drillholes were also drilled over the reported area of EL 25150. Metadata attached to this report is taken directly from the MZL database and is appended as tab delimited files at the end of this report. The area of EL 25150 being relinquished contains part of the resource covered by ML 24738. Work submitted in this report includes a total of 7 auger holes and associated. |
