dc.description.abstract | The tenement area lies in the western region of the Pine Creek Inlier (Litchfield Province) and is considered to have good potential for magmatic Cu-Ni mineralisation related to the Wangi Basics. The Litchfield Province is the continuation of the prospective Halls Creek Province of the Kimberley's, a known significant magmatic Cu-Ni province. The mineral commodities sought were gold, base metals and uranium. The work carried out included: Analysis of GA AEM coverage; brief geological observations from helicopter while en route from Daly River Hotel to EL 10140 and EL 25713; and preliminary geological and geophysical studies. Eleven E-W flight lines traverse the whole of this EL. These are the flight lines that correspond to the relinquished portion of EL 27040. FL 1202801 - there are moderate to strong surface and near surface conductors which may obliterate any deeper conductors. At about 663000E there is a basement fault zone which is inclined to the W. FL 1004401 - there is moderate surface and near surface conductors which may obliterate any deeper conductors. FL 1203001 - in the W there is a zone of moderate to strong surface to near surface conductors which extend to about 75m depth. E from about 666500E the surface conductors become thinner but there is another zone of moderate conductors from about 100m to 150m depth. FL 1203101 - there are weak to moderate surface and near surface conductors. There are some narrow vertical zones of low conductivity which might correspond to fault traces. FL1004501 - there are weak surface and near surface conductors perhaps corresponding to depths of weathering. The northern half of this EL was retained so that the highly anomalous arsenic and +1ppm gold in the CEC rock chip sample QP36234 and the REE potential could be investigated. The Southern half was relinquished. | en_US |
