Final report on EL 26767 Marqua North, for period 13 March 2007 to 15 January 2010

Abstract

Final report on AusQuest's 'Marqua North' exploration title, EL 26767, which was granted on 13 March 2009 and surrendered on 15 January 2010. The tenement covers potential phosphate rich horizons in the Middle Cambrian sequence of the Georgina Basin. Reconnaissance geological traverses were carried out over the area but very little outcrop was located and the tenement was surrendered. Although the area contains prospective stratigraphy for phosphate, drilling would be required to fully evaluate this tenement. It was considered that the remote location of the tenement, away from any significant infrastructure, would make it difficult to locate an economic deposit of phosphate.
