The High Black Range EL 25692 was identified as potentially hosting uranium mineralisation by a review of publicly available airborne radiometric data. The tenement straddles the boundary between the Moroak and Goondooloo stations, about 130km east of Katherine. The exploration tenement overlies sections of the West Mc Arthur Basin, where sandstones, siltstones and mudstones of the Roper Group are intruded by dolerite sills and diorite dykes. During 2008 exploration of the tenement focussed on ground truthing radiometric anomalies in the north western and southern parts of the tenement. These were field checked and appear to be related to black soil areas forming in valleys between the sandstone outcrops and as such no further work was recommended. These areas have been identified for relinquishment as part of the compulsory reduction at the end of the second year of tenure.en_US
