The Corella Lake project area is located some 160km by road from Tennant Creek. Several aerial radiometric uranium anomalies occur within the project area. The western most significant anomaly occurs over an area of 800m by 350m and is associated with a zone of ferruginisation identified from Landsat imagery at the intersection of a number of significant basement faults. Uramet Minerals Limited (Uramet) was targeting uranium mineralisation at the unconformity between Tertiary lacustrine limestone and underlying Cambrian limestone, clastic sediments and basalt. Work undertaken within the EL by Uramet includes field reconnaissance, soil sampling and scintillometer surveying. While further work on the tenement including further surface geochemistry and/or auger drilling was considered in order to explain the discrepancy between the U-channel anomalies on the airborne radiometrics and the geochemical results, the project was considered to be a lower priority, and was therefore relinquished.en_US
