dc.description.abstractLiterature research and desktop studies utilizing data available from Departmental and company files has enabled Ivanplats personnel to gain an improved geological understanding of the morphology and structural evolution of the Amadeus Basin. Known uranium mineralisation in the Amadeus Basin is contained within sandstone hosted, roll front deposits adjacent to structural and stratigraphic pathways. During and subsequent to the Alice Springs Orogeny uranium rich fluids, derived from Neo Proterozoic Arunta Block material, travelled along deep seated thrust planes and possible transpressional faults into the northern sub basins of the Amadeus Basin. Hydrocarbons and organic debris interacting with these fluids acted as reductants for the uranium and base metals.en_US
