Report on relinquished area EL 24998, second year

Abstract

EL 24998 was granted to Finching Pty Ltd and Mundena Holdings Pty Ltd for a period of six years from 1 August 2006 over an area of four hundred and eighty-five (485) blocks. At the conclusion of Year 2 an area of four hundred and fifty-eight (458) blocks was relinquished. No work was carried out on the relinquished area of EL 24998. A low level airborne detailed geophysical survey was completed over the south eastern portion that has been retained. The eastern portion was acquired in the hope that a low level aeromagnetic survey focused on deep seismic disturbances may yield significant dipolar magnetic kimberlitic targets. The results of the survey were inconclusive and hence the surrounding area was no longer regarded as a priority and consequently relinquished.
