New Hope is 12 miles east of Peko Mine. Gold mineralisation is hosted in hematite and magnetite. There are numerous old workings. The magnetic anomaly was first drilled to 563 feet by National Lead but the hole did not reach the main mineralisation. The area is structurally complex and correlation is difficult. Traces of copper have been reported from a pit east of the main New Hope workings. Geology of the New Hope leases is discussed in some detail.en_US
