dc.description.abstract | This report describes exploration work undertaken on the relinquished portion of EL 9452 (Manyalluluk Project) during the term of tenure. The tenement was granted on 5 May 2004 for a period of six years. A partial relinquishment of 125 blocks for 396.8 km2 of EL 9452 was actioned on the anniversary date of 5 May 2008. 284 blocks for an area of 939.2 km2 has been retained. No other relinquishments have been made from the original area of grant. Field activities during the period of tenure on the relinquished portion of EL 9452 have consisted of helicopter assisted sampling, and radiometric anomaly follow-up. Airborne geophysics conducted on the project consists of project wide magnetic and radiometric surveys, and an airborne hyperspectral survey over the eastern portion of tenement. 42 airborne radiometric anomalies were identified within the relinquished portion of EL 9452, and 24 anomalies were followed up with 19 outcrop samples and 5 mapping stations. The majority of radiometric anomalies were observed to be associated with the mafic volcanic units of the Katherine River Group, related to near surface weathering effects and scavenging of U from surficial sources, and do not require any further work. The relinquished portions of EL 9452 are not considered prospective for U mineralisation and further exploration is not warranted. | en_US |
