dc.description.abstract | Reporting for AP 3387 was in the form of monthly reports. Not much work was carried out during this period but any relevant information is recorded as follows; 25/08/1971 to 21/09/1971 - Several field trips through this area have indicated that there is not outcrop of Warramunga rocks and hence exploration for Tennant Creek type mineralisation will be dependent on geophysics only. Several high-level areomagnetic anomalies are known in the area but because of their remoteness it appears unlikely that they could be located successfully without further delineation by a low-level areomagnetic survey. The feasibility of such a survey is now being considered. A track has been graded from No 2 Bore west of Cabbage Gum Bore to an area to the south west of AP 3387. This will allow access to the southern part of AP 3387. 12/01/1972 to 08/02/1972 - It was recently discovered that aeromagnetics had been flown over this area by the previous holders of the area (AP 2653 - Bridge Oil). This company has agreed to supply the results of the survey and consequently the recently let contract for an aeromagnetic survey has been cancelled. THhe field programme in the area will depend on the study of the aeromagnetic results when they are received. 09/02/1972 to 07/03/1972 - Results of an aeromagnetic survey carried out for Bridge Oil have been obtained. These reveal three anomalies of potential interest, which have been scheduled for ground location and reconnaissance survey. This programme will be undertaken as soon as the geophysical party reaches Tennant Creek in about mid-April. | en_US |
