Annual report on exploration activities year 4 of tenure 19 August 2006 to 18 August 2007 EL 23771 Cox River West

Abstract

Exploration in the district during 2006 and 2007 was delayed by an extraordinarily late wet season. During late 2006 the original Falcon gravity data was reprocessed by BHPB Falcon operation with updated noise suppression algorithms that lowered the noise in the original data set from approximately 10 Eotvos to 3 Eotvos. Small kimberlites discovered by Gravity Diamond at Abner Range had a negative gravity response of 22 Eotvos. Field work was undertaken during late 2006 and during 2007 with vehicular access to the tenement and other tenements held by Gravity Diamonds in the district constructed. Helicopter sampling of drainages in the district was carried out by Gravity during June and July 2007. Sample sites within EL 23771 were located and examined utilising a JetRanger II helicopter, however sampling of these sites was postponed as the sites were entirely covered by standing water - a reflection of the heavy and late wet season experienced by the southern portions of Arnhem land during April and May 2007. The located sites will be sampled during the next sampling run scheduled for October 2007.
