Annual report on exploration activities for EL 10322, fourth year of tenure 2005/2006

Abstract

EL 10322 covers 6.7 square kilometres near (but excluding) the old Great Northern Mine at Pine Creek. It is being explored for gold using costeaning, metal detecting, soil and rock chip sampling. During the first four years of the current EL, good prospects have been located at Backhoe Hill, Carls Hill, Southern Prospect and Golden Nob. All contained gold detectable with a standard metal detector. A small quartz reef, 4 to 6 inches thick, at the northern end of Backhoe Hill was sampled. The best assay of a selected sample returned 263 ppm gold and four other random samples from along the reef ranged from 9.54 ppm to 118 ppm. Twenty other rock chips were taken from all over the EL with the best results being 24.4 ppm gold and 13 of the assays being below 1 ppm. No accurate locations or digital assay data are given. Two backhoe trenches were dug searching for alluvial gravels. One trench yielded no gravel. The second did and the gravel was sampled with results pending. Both trenches were backfilled. Future exploration will concentrate on the southern end of the EL. A mineral claim is envisaged to cover the northern portion at Backhoe Hill.
