Abstract: EL 9769 was situated to the south east of the eastern Harts Ranges (ILLOGWA CREEK 1:250 000 topographical). Generally speaking the Licence covered an area below the northern boundary of Numery Station between the Aboriginal land east of Allans Bore and the old north/south orientated stock route. The project was carried out to establish, firstly, whether the proterozoic structure generating the mag/gravity anomaly might carry any economic mineralisation and, secondly, to determine the nature of that structure's geology. Geochem reconnaissance was done by using RAB then reverse circulation drilling to acquire samples of unweathered basement rock for analysis. Two subsequent diamond holes produced core of both the local Eromanga sedimentary sequence and rocks from below the unconformity. Drill targeting was achieved via magnetic and gravity variation surveys. Mag data was provided courtesy of the NT Geological Survey (Eromanga Basin airborne geophysical survey); Haines Surveys performed the gravity survey.
