Abstract: The Kekwick project (EL23688) is south- west of Lake Woods. It lies on Powell Creek Station owned by Consolidated Press Holdings Limited. No previous exploration is recorded from the area. During the initial term of exploration of EL23688, work consisted of: - literature research of previous exploration, geological survey and geophysical survey; - data compilation; - acquisition and interpretation of departmental geological and airborne geophysical datasets; - planning of field program; - planning, budgeting, and reporting. Visits to other stakeholders in the area for introduction purposes were completed, and the Sacred Sites register was searched. In the second term of the licence, a field inspection of the area was undertaken. This showed that ground reconnaissance was out of the question without substantial earthmoving activity. There were no sites suitable for surface heavy mineral sample collection. Plans for the next term of the licence include shallow auger drilling across the main drainage channel draining the area. However this proved impracticable because of the prolonged wet season in 2006, and it was decided to surrender the title.
