L 22625 'Hale River' and EL 10360 'Ambalindum' form part of the Winnecke Project, which is situated in Central Australia about 65 kilometres northeast of Alice Springs. Tanami Gold Exploration (TENL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Tanami Gold NL (TGNL), a publicly listed company, is the registered holder for both tenements. After four years of tenure EL 22625 was surrendered and EL 10360 was reduced in size pursuant to the requirements of section 26 of the NT Mining Act. This report covers exploration on the relinquished areas of both tenements. Exploration consisted of geological reconnaissance and geochemical sampling from 2002 to 2004. The relinquished tenement areas are interpreted to be underlain by Cadney and Gardens Metamorphics in the north and gneiss with some Neoproterozoic lithologies in the southern tenement area. The Woolanga lineament crosscuts the southwestern tenement area and is characterised by retrograde shearzones and quartz veining over a width of at least 100 m. All exploration on the relinquished ground for the reporting period is summarised in the table below. A best result of 3.5 ppm Au was returned from mullock material from the John Bull's Surprise Au occurrence, an area of weathered and altered sericite-chlorite schist, similar to the geology at the Winnecke Goldfield. Regional chip sampling returned a best result of 13 ppb Au and 293 ppm Cu.en_US
