Year 3 annual report for EL 9840, 23 July 2004 to 22 July 2005

Abstract

In late September 2003, Striker Resources NL (Striker) entered into a 'Letter of Intent' with Rio Tinto with respect to the Merlin Orbit Exploration Tenements, which included EL9840. The tenements were held by Ashton Mining Limited ('Ashton') (a wholly owned subsidiary of the Rio Tinto Group 'Rio Tinto'). EL9840 is located approximately 105 kilometres south of Borroloola and 30 kilometres east of the Merlin Mine. Ashton Mining had previously completed reconnaissance and infill sampling over the EL during the early 1980s and late 1990s. Prior to transfer of the tenement to Striker, Rio Tinto had not undertaken any field based exploration. Work undertaken by Striker during this reporting period included a detailed desktop review of historical sampling data and geophysical survey datasets. The review highlighted numerous target areas for field inspection and follow-up sampling. Field activities included field reconnaissance of historical sample sites and geophysical targets. No samples were collected.
