Abstract

The initial stream sediment sampling programme returned 38 anomalous samples with a peak of 18.3ppb Au. Follow up confirmed 33 of these sites and located an additional 17 anomalous sample sites (maximum assay 7.74ppb Au). The majority of these anomalous stream sediment samples are located near the western boundary of EL7027, in a broad zone 3.5 x 1km trending northnorthwest and southsoutheast. Rock chip sampling returned anomalous values (maximum assays 19.5% Cu, 9.9% Pb, 1060ppm Zn, 8.22% As and 190g-t Au) from gossanous specular haematitic-limonitic quartz veins, reefs and shears. Malachite and azurite occur in a quartz shear system in the south of EL6992. Soil sampling showed anomalous gold and minor base metal anomalies were coincidental with thin ferruginous quartz veinlets between greywacke and siltstone bedding-cleavage breaks.
