Annual report on EL 6993 Bonya Creek and EL 6994 Hay River, 9 November 1990 to 8 November 1991, Eastern Arunta Project

Abstract

This report covers work conducted on EL 6993 and EL 6994 during the first year of tenure. These tenements are part of the Eastern Arunta Project and were identified as prospective for sediment hosted Broken Hill-type mineralisation. Exploration carried out during the reporting period included literature reviews, reprocessing and interpretation of airborne magnetic data and Landsat TM data, reconnaissance and orientation geochemical sampling (stream sediment and soil), auger sampling and an airborne EM survey over selected areas. A preliminary assessment of results has been undertaken. Each type of sampling contains some anomalous base metal values. The results will be further evaluated to establish the ralationship of anomalous values and areas of follow up determined. The EM/magnetic data and interpretations have been received only for Area 1. No strong responses which would normally be associated with conductive sources of any great size were detected by the survey in Area 1.
