Abstract: Ground magnetics has not proved to be an effective tool due to the lack of magnetic minerals in association with the zircon monazite. Sampling illustrated preferential deposition of heavy mineral sands in the alluvial fan sequence as opposed to the incised stream. However, concentrates of zircon and monazite were sub-economic. Drilling showed that heavy mineral sands comprised 7-8Wgt% of the sequence longtitudinally and vertically to bedrock though once again the concentrates of monazite and zircon were not economic.
