Annual report on EL 605 Bigryli, for year ending 22-10-1974

Abstract

Intensive exploration has continued on EL 605 during the year. This work has included an airborne radiometric survey of 1,850 line kms., geological mapping of the Bigryli - Prospect at 1:2,000 scale, and rotary percussion drilllng comprising a total of 2,185 m at the Walbiri Prospect. The results of this work have indicated that the Bigryli Prospect has anomalous radioactivity and carnotite at three areas, Raparpa, Widjinba and Yirnmagi, the latter giving an assay of 3.15% U from a grab sample. At the Walbiri Prospect, the best result was in hole NGRH-37A between 138-139 m which gave 2,350 ppm U. The airborne radiometric survey revealed anomalous radioactivity in the Patmungala. Syncline and on The northern margin of the Ngalia Basin. It also identified previously known mineralization. Further drilling was recommended.
