Abstract

273 reconnaissance samples were collected in the first year of tenure at an approximate density of 1 sample per 5 square kilometres. The majority of the chromites recovered appear to be sourced in the Antrim Plateau Volcanics. 10 TM and 26 airphoto anomalies were chosen for follow up. Most were found to be Antrim Plateau Volcanics. 27 samples were collected from these anomalies.

In year two a further 27 samples were collected. Chromites were collected from a majority of samples. These chromites were shown to be non kimberlitic.
