dc.description.abstract | The airborne magnetic survey outlined 12 magnetic anomalies which were followed up by helicopter borne magnetics and loam sampling. Loam sampling yielded one chromite of low interest and no other kimberlitic indicator minerals were observed. In addition two rock chip samples were collected, the results for which were negative. Two of the airborne magnetic anomalies had ground magnetic surveys undertaken over them. Anomaly MM39-2 was shown to have a surficial source and did not warrant follow up. MM50-1 also was shown to have a surficial source, an ironstone outcrop, which was tested by a single percussion drill hole (total depth 14m). The drill hole showed the ironstone to be a 3m over unconsolidated alluvial sands. Tenements were adequately tested for their diamond and base metal potential. Areas voluntarily relinquished. Airborne magnetics-radiometrics elevation 80m line spacing 300m tie lines 4km. | en_US |
