Abstract

Modelling of the airborne magnetics outline 166 discrete magnetic features, 19 of which were associated with cultural features. 73 of these anomalies were followed up by helicopter borne and ground magnetics and a loam sampling programs. 17 of the magnetic features were covered by the ground magnetic survey. 1 microdiamond was recovered by the loam sampling program. 15 percussion drill holes were sited to test the cause of these anomalies. All holes encountered similar lithologies. The magnetic anomalies were sourced by magnetically susceptible gritty sands and clays.
