This report is a continuation of test work to beneficate Roper River ironstones. The samples were from the top, middle and bottom bed of Deposit C, which is one of the major Roper River iron deposits. After reducing the hematite to magnetite, wet magnetic separation resulted in grades of 58.65% Fe and 11.5% SiO2 to 64.9% Fe and 7.35% SiO2. Liberation by grinding to minus 14 mesh was sufficient to permit the making of a concentrate analysing 59.66% Fe with a recovery of 40.69% of total iron.en_US
