EL 3340- 50 percent reduction requirement 2002

A further 50% reduction was due on the 14th of May 2002, however De Beers request that the Minister waive the above requirement for a period of 12 months. A work programme was submitted and approved last year by the NLC and the traditional owners of the land. On the other hand an anthropological survey and clearance was not undertaken as planned, and exploration was therefore not allowed to commence. No exploration activities were undertaken during the fourth year of tenure.
