Abstract: An agreement was reached with the Nourlangie Syndicate to prospect on EL 158 in Northern Territory during October, 1975. Owing to the short time available in the 1975 field season because of the impending 'wet', only limited field work was carried out. A random track etch survey combined with a soil geochemical sampling programme over about 4 km2 was undertaken to satisfy expenditure requirements for the period. This area blanketed three of the anomalies outlined by Noranda Australia Limited, the previous explorer of EL 158. Three uranium anomalies were outlined from the track etch and soil geochemical work performed by Pacminex in 1975. The results generally coincide with the anomalies outlined in the 1973 field work by Noranda and establish an acceptable level of confidence in the geological work of that company. Uranium was the only metal which produced anomalous values although the geochemical soil samples were analysed for U, Cu, Pb, Zn, Ni and Au. The radon track etch survey on the same grid produced 13 readings considered by Terradex to be anomalous. This contractor reports that in it's experience these anomalies represent a reasonable indication of above average uranium mineralisation. In the southern part of the 1975 Pacminex grid, a number of anomalous values follow an approximately east-west
trend. The uranium soil geochemical anomalies generally coincide
with the radon track etch anomalies.
