The Tennant Creek field is located 600 miles south of Darwin. Here gold and copper mineralisation extends over an area of thousands of square miles. With one or two exceptions, the deposits occur within blows of hematite and magnetite. The hematite/magnetite is thought to be of hydrothermal origin and magnetite proportion appears to increase with depth.en_US
