dc.description.abstractDuring exploration program, West Arm Landing area of the Port Darwin was searched for tin and tantalite. However, considerable drilling campaign was unable to establish workable alluvial deposits. Alluvium appears to be shallow throughout the mangrove swamp and over much of the area and consists of mud directly lying on the bed rock. Gravel beds were located in a few places but tin ore values were negligible.en_US
