At Waterhouse No. 2 prospect diamond drill hole 74 WH3 wasen_US
dc.description.abstractcompleted at 209 m in December, 1974. It intersected uranium mineralisation at an average grade of 2637 ppm U (3.1 kg u308/tonne) from 153.0 m to 154.5 m contained in brecciated graphitic and chloritic shales immediately below the contact with a hematite-quartzite breccia horizon (H.Q.B.). This intersection, although insignificant in terms of width, gives great encouragement for continued uranium exploration not only at Waterhouse No. 2 prospect but elsewhere in E.L. 610.en_US
Accordingly, re-mapping of all H.Q.B, rocks has been carrieden_US
dc.description.abstractout at 1:25 000 scale. In addition, the H.Q.B. and enveloping units at Waterhouse No. 2 prospect and the Mt. Minza area have been mapped at 1:2500 scale. This work has not only indicated possible structural traps and discontinuities of the H.Q.B. (analogues based on the Alligator Rivers areauranium occurrences) but has led to the discovery of a number of significant new radiometric anomalies. At one of these anomalies, apparently not found by T.E.P. or the B.M.R., metatorbemite and a yellow brown platy mineral have been observed in sheared H.Q.B. boulder float. It is planned to carry out a radon-in-soil sampling program over these areas to assist in pin-pointing future drill targets.en_US
