Gondwana Project, Report on area F Prospect, EL 220

Abstract

The Area F prospects lie within the areas relinquished from EL 220 as at 31/12/1973 and are situated near the former western boundary of that EL. The Area F Traverse, on AMG northing 8 634 000N, was designed as the basis for an evaluation of the geology and mineral potential of this part of the EL. Field work commenced during 1973. This report describes the results obtained from investigation of the following prospects Ranger 23, Ranger 24, Ranger 29, Ranger 30 and Ranger 50. Of these, Ranger 29 and 50 were defined from the results of soil geochemistry on the area F Traverse, and the remainder were detected as anomalous gamma radiation in the uranium channel during a low level, high resolution airborne gamma spectrometer survey carried out during 1973. Results of the airborne survey are being processed and are not yet available.
