The lime-sand sample contained 64 percent CaCO3 and 5.2 percent MgCO3. A screen analysis indicates that screening or classification could produce a product assaying 78.7 percent CaCO3 with a recovery of 62 percent approximately. A concentrate assaying 85.9 percent CaCO3 and 5.8 percent MgCO3 was produced from this sample by anionic flotation with a CaCO3 recovery of 72.9 percent. A CaCO3 recovery of approximately 80 percent (79.5%) also was achieved with a grade of 87 percent CaCO3, but the MgCO3 content was not determined. Determined in ML 1103/64 as 6 percent MgCO3. Further work is recommended to improve recovery. THis would investigate further anionic flotation and the effect of mesh of grind, reagent amount and multiple cleaning.en_US
