Annual Report on EL 2118, Pine Creek Limestone Project.

Abstract

This report covers exploration to locate Cambrian limestone for cement manufacture on EL 2118 from November 1979 to September 1981. Reconnaissance field mapping and sampling traverses resulted in 120 rock chip samples which were assayed by AMDEL. The Limestone Hill Grid was considered the most prospective with 20% of the assay results with CaCO3/MgCO3 greater than 10. It was noted that there appeared to be little physical difference visible between limestone of acceptable standard and that which was not. Of other the areas inspected, the Stray Creek outcrop proved to be unsuitable, but the Fenceline Grid showed some zones of acceptable quality limestone.
