The broad objectives of this mineral resource study of part of the Amadeus basin in central Australia embrace a search for minerals in areas that cover 1,400 square miles, a study of surface outcrops of rocks 7,000 feet thick for 150 miles along the MacDonnell Ranges, and a report it writing. The objectives may also be outlined as follows:en_US
dc.description.abstract1) To prospect for minerals, particularly salt, gy-psia, sulphur, ad minerals with potassium, nitrogen and phosphorous, on lands described in Authority to Prospect No. 1038 and in Permit to Enter Resenes for Wards No. 102/2 shown on location map, 2) To investigate the various kinds of rocks included in Joktik's Bitter Springs Limestone for evidence of salt deposits by inspection of surface outcrops, by study of cores and cuttings from oil tests, and by examination of reports and logs of water well bores.en_US
