Title Holder / Company: Tanami Exploration

Year: 2004

Abstract: Tanami Gold NL (TGNL) identified the potential for Proterozoic hosted gold mineralisation in the basement rocks of the Napperby area. EL 23483 forms part of TGNL's Napperby Project, which lies in Central Australia approximately 200 kilometres north-northeast of Alice Springs. EL 23483 Mt Judith was granted on 23 December 2002 to Tanami Exploration NL (TENL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Tanami Gold NL (TGNL), a publicly listed company. This report describes exploration carried out on the relinquishment tenement portion during the first two years of tenure. Exploration consisted of a regional desk top study and field reconnaissance including geochemical sampling. On the relinquished tenement portion of EL 23483 two areas of interest were visited, the McKay area, where three anomalous lag samples by WMC were checked with soil sampling, and a black manganese occurrence, associated with weakly anomalous lead and zinc values from previous rockchip sampling. No significant gold values were returned.
