Title: Partial relinquishment report for EL 22917 'Eldorado', from 10th July 2002 to 9th July 2004
Title Holder / Company: Tanami Exploration
Report id: CR2004-0504
Tenure: EL22917
Year: 2004
Author: Rohde, C
Abstract: EL 22917 'Eldorado' is situated approximately 100 km northeast of Alice Springs. The tenement was granted to Tanami Exploration NL (TENL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Tanami Gold NL (TGNL), on 9 July 2002. After two years of tenure the tenement was reduced in size pursuant to the requirements of section 26 of the NT Mining Act. Exploration on the relinquished area is the subject of this report. Exploration programs carried out by TENL on the surrendered portion of EL 22917 comprised regional mapping, prospect scale mapping, soil sampling, lag sampling, stream sediment sampling and rockchip sampling. The mapping program and accompanying non-ground disturbing sampling programs were carried out prior to the grant of the tenement under the fossicking provisions of the Mining Act. The initial target identified in the region was Pt-Pd-Au mineralisation associated with the Florence Creek Shear Zone. Several anomalous gold and base metal values were returned by the programs, however overall prospectivity for most of the tenement area is considered low and the tenement was subsequently surrendered.
