Partial relinquishment report for EL 10282 'White Lily extended', 4th June 2001 to 3rd June 2004

Abstract

Exploration Licence (EL) 10282 was granted on the 4th of June 2001 for a period of six years. The licence was granted to the Central Desert Joint Venture partners (Otter Gold NL (now Otter Gold Pty Ltd) 60% and Acacia Resources Ltd {now Anglogold Australia} 40%) as part of the Legend 2 Agreement (ELs 8077, 9479, 10282, 10283, 10299, 10300, 10355, 10411, 22177 & 22179). The exploration license was subject to a Deed (Legend 2) between the CDJV and the Traditional Owners. At the end of the third year of exploration it was decided to relinquish ground because of escalating tenement costs. The ground was reduced from 20 blocks (63 km2) to 14 blocks (44km2). The relinquished ground included 62 soil samples on a broad grid (500m x 500m & 250m x 250m). Other activities during the tenure of the licence focussed on remote detection of targets using the multiscale edge analysis worm technique and aeromagnetics. Assessments of the Exploration License were made and the decision was made to partially surrender EL10282 on the 3rd June 2004.
