Final report for EL 9708 'Bonney Well 1', 12th February 2002 to 9th February 2004

Abstract

Exploration Licence 9708 Bonney Well 1 was taken up to explore for gold within the Skinner Anticline, in the Davenport Ranges south south-east of Tennant Creek Township. Work on EL 9708 was being conducted in conjunction with similar exploration activity on the adjacent EL 9747 Bonney Well 2. Targets were ironstone-related gold-copper deposits. This report records the exploration word done on EL 9708 during its two year term from 12th February 2002 to 9th February 2004. The Exploration Licence 9708 Bonney Well 1 covers part of the Skinner Anticline, which has some features in common with the auriferous dome structures in the Paterson Province of Western Australia. No target areas or prospects have been identified within EL 9708 by desktop assessment, as target generation within EL 9708 essentially requires further on-ground exploration. Before any on ground work is to be carried out over the Licence area a site clearance is required which presents a number of logistical technicalities. At present Giants Reef do not have the personal required to undertake the exploration over the Licence area, and have been unsuccessful in forming an Alliance or Partnership. At the end of the second year of tenure the EL 9708 was surrendered.
