Annual report for period ending April 30, 2001 for EL's 22533, 22542, 22543, 22534, 22545, 22536, 22535, 22538, 22544

Abstract

The report summarizes work undertaken within the project area including sampling programs, geophysical interpretations, petrographic analysis, rock and mineral chemistry. All stream sediment samples reported positive for a single chromite, loam samples did not returned positive results, but are considered to be to small and not representative. A helicopter-assisted program was undertaken to field check the aeromagnetic anomalies. A total of 21 anomalies were checked and the source remains unknown and ground magnetic surveys will be undertaken in the next reporting period. The recovery of a suite of indicator minerals from the area highlights the diamond prospectivity of the region. The project area remains Elkedra's high priority target and drill test is planned for the next field season.
